Amber Heard was 'physically abusive' to Depp after drinking, claims security

Amber Heard has been accused of entering a ‘kind of abuse mood’ after drinking, Johnny Depp’s Head of Security had claimed in court.

In a witness statement, Sean Bett claimed that it was a ‘very common occurrence’ throughout Depp and Heard’s relationship for the Pirates of the Caribbean actor to have himself ‘taken away from Ms Heard’ due to her behaviour.

In his witness statement, Bett said: “I do not know the details about these proceedings, but I understand from the Claimant’s solicitors that these proceedings relate to the allegations that Mr Depp was verbally and physically abusive to his former wife, Ms Amber Heard, throughout their relationship.

“I was with Mr Depp and Ms Heard very regularly throughout this period and I never saw any cuts, bruises or other injuries on Ms Heard.

“I also never saw Mr Depp commit any act of physical violence to another person.

“Indeed, when they were in Los Angeles, I would have been with Mr Depp and Ms Heard between 5 and 7 days a week, so had Ms Heard sustained any injuries during that time, I would have seen them. I saw no such injuries.”

He continued: “On the contrary, throughout the course of Mr Depp and Ms Heard’s relationship, Ms Heard was verbally and physically abusive towards Mr Depp.

“On many occasions I witnessed her shout at Mr Depp.

“I was also told by Mr Depp on multiple occasions that Ms Heard had physically abused him.

“A very common occurrence throughout the relationship would be that Mr Depp would have me, and other members of his security team, take him away from Ms Heard, due to her behaviour.
He would then stay somewhere else.”

Bett claimed that such situations occurred so often it “is not possible for me to remember them all in detail.”

Explaining how it was the norm, Bett said: “However, I would describe it as a recurring cycle that Ms Heard would abuse Mr Depp, who would then remove himself from the situation.

“Ms Heard often behaved in this way when she had been drinking.

“I learnt quickly to recognise the signs, so that we were able to leave the situation before it escalated further.

“I also knew that she could be violent towards Mr Depp, so it was important that he did not remain in a situation with Ms Heard when she was in this kind of abusive mood.”

Depp is suing the publication for libel after they branded him a ‘wife beater’ in a comment piece.

Depp’s ex wife Amber Heard is also appearing in the courts as a key witness for the defence.

Johnny categorically denies claims that he was physically violent to Heard during their relationship.

Heard claims Depp was violent towards her 14 times.
