Ant and Dec make 'surprise GMB appearance' – but one of them gets 'snubbed'

Ant and Dec made a surprise appearance on today’s Good Morning Britain, as Andi Peters presented the competition segment.

The appearance prompted Declan Donnelly to text into the programme, laughing about the fact that Ant McPartlin ‘s face had been snubbed.

Filmed live from Andi’s garage, the 49-year-old host had decked out the room with an array of unusual decorations, from flowers to cardboard cutouts.

However, it was a framed photo that grabbed viewers’ attention, as it showed the smiling faces of Ant and Dec.

Located in the corner of the screen, Ant’s face was blocked out by the large GMB logo in front of it, though Dec’s was in full view.

Dating back to the 90s, it showed the Britain’s Got Talent stars dressed as PJ and Duncan, which were their stage names at the beginning of their music career.

In stitches, Andi revealed Dec had texted him a photo of the telly, thrilled to see that Ant’s face had been snubbed, rather than his own.

He said: “I’m in the middle of a text conversation clang with Ant and Dec. Because earlier the framing of my shot on here, if you look down here you can see PJ and Duncan.

“The logo is right over Ant’s face and Dec is like ‘leave it like that’.”

Laughing over the mishap, Andy exclaimed: “It’s perfect framing.”

In a tribute to Ant, he then lifted the frame to the camera, letting viewers see both of their faces in the close-up shot.

Listening to Andi from the ITV studio, GMB host Ranvir Singh then took a swipe at Ant and Dec’s prolific TV career, jokingly suggesting they appeared on too many shows.

She said: “Cause they’re not on telly enough, we need more. They’re not on telly enough.”

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays at 6am on ITV.
