BGT's David Walliams breaks down in tears over group's mental health message

David Walliams looked visibly upset following an audition by an Irish dance troupe on Britain’s Got Talent.

The group of youngsters took to the stage at the London Palladium in front of the panel featuring Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and David.

Called House of Swag, the dancers informed the judges their performance is centered on a captivating message surrounding mental health.

Shining the spotlight on positive mental health and hoping that together they can make a change, their routine featured a medley of songs and a powerful message.

David wiped away a tear following the performance

The dance symbolised the struggle with depression, with one lead child dancer showing the agony of dealing with a mental illness.

Following the routine, David looked teary as he wiped at his eyes before commending the group on a subject that’s difficult to talk about.

Touched by the routine, David said: “This is an issue people find very difficult to talk about and how wonderful to bring it to the stage in the medium of dance. You’re brilliant talented dancers.”

And Amanda Holden agreed, writing: “Children listen to children, there’s a very strong message here and I can see a lot of potential

“I love the way how you put the whole thing together, a fantastic audition,” Alesha said.

Meanwhile, fellow judge Simon was full of praise for the dancers.

House of Swag was given four thumbs up and sailed through to the next round.

Britain’s Got Talent airs on ITV on Saturday on 8pm.
