Big Brother star and girlfriend stuck in Egypt as coronavirus sparks global hell

Big Brother star Sam Chaloner has been left stranded in Egypt with his girlfriend as flights round the world are axed and hotels shut their doors due to the global pandemic of the coronavirus.

The TV star, who appeared on the hit show in 2017 alongside Ibiza Weekender babe Ellie Young, took to social media to confirm they are currently “stuck” at their resort on the east coast of the country.

Posting to his official Instagram page, Sam shared a snap from the sun-kissed complex alongside the caption: “Thanks for everyone’s nice messages and trying to help.

“Looks like we are out here for a bit, until it all blows over… Least we have a beach and that big orange thing in the sky.”

“Trying to make the best out of a bad situation, couldn’t thank Caribbean World Resort enough for taking care of us in this awful situation.”

The reality TV star continued: “Loving every minute of my holiday with this one… the most beautiful place we have been to.

“We needed this time away.

“Also just to let people know who seem concerned, every single person who is entering this complex is tested for COVID-19 and it is deep cleaned every day throughout.

“We are safe here! This is our self quarantine.”

Confirming their hotel will close in a matter of days, Jordi took to her own social media account before writing: “They kindly offered to extend our stay for another week and have helped us to find accommodation for when the hotel closes.

“We’re very lucky to be staying somewhere so helpful and supportive… also helps that it’s such a beautiful resort.”

Earlier this week the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office issued urgent travel advice for holidaymakers currently in the nearby country of Spain after the Spanish government ordered the closure of all hotels by March 24 in a bid to tackle the spread of coronavirus.

Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to announce the closure of all shops, bars, pubs, gyms and cinemas in London from Friday evening.

He previously hoped that simply telling people in the capital to work from home and practice self-isolation and social distancing would be enough.
