Bradley Walsh 'set for lucrative BBC deal' to host all new Blankety Blank reboot

TV legend Bradley Walsh is set to rake in the cash with a big money BBC deal.

The presenter, 60, is best known for hosting ITV’s The Chase, and it seems like he’s eyeing up another game show.

Blankety Blank went off air 18 years ago, and Bradley is set to revitalise the classic show with a completely modern take.

BBC bosses are hoping The Chase frontman will be up for becoming the new host.

An insider told The Sun: “Blankety Blank was massive for the BBC and revisiting it seemed like a great idea in the current climate.

“Bradley is the favourite to be the new host but bosses behind the reboot also have discussed Paddy McGuinness and Rylan Clark as potential hosts.”

They added: “Everyone is confident it’ll be a hit and it’s a perfect fit for Saturday night.”

The gameshow, which sees two contestants trying to match as many fill-in-the-blanks statements with celeb panelists as possible, was a huge hit in the 80s.

Plans for the new show will feature a modern take and new host.

Insiders claim “cash will be pumped into the series” if it does go ahead.

The presenter is yet to be chosen, but it seems Bradley is a firm favourite.

Blankety Blank launched under late broadcaster Terry Wogan in 1979 before Les Dawson took over in 1983.

If The Chase star Bradley does take over the role, it will be the end of an era for Paul O’Grady – who was the last host of the format as Lily Savage back in 2002.

The show was axed in 1990 when Les quit and comedian Paul was later tasked with relaunching Blankety Blank in 1997.

After two years, the BBC rested the format and in 2001, ITV aired the final full series of the show.
