Britney Spears speaks out as she 'tries to remove father as sole conservator'

Britney Spears has taken to social media to thank fans for their unwavering love and support amid her ongoing legal battle.

The Work Bitch songstress logged into her official Instagram account before posting a clip of her answering “fan questions”.

Alongside the post, Britney wrote: “For me I want to thank all my dear… sweet… real fans for being so damn wonderful.

“I can feel your hearts and I know you can feel mine… thank you for your support.”

According to widespread reports Britney recently asked an LA judge to remove her father Jamie Spears as her sole conservator.

The mum-of-two has been under the legal constraint for 12 years after suffering a public breakdown.

It was initially intended to be a short-term measure to ensure her safety and financial wellbeing.

However, over a decade later the conservatorship is still in place causing some fans to question if Britney is trapped in the system.

Speculation about Britney’s situation had led to the #FreeBritney movement which calls for the Pop Princess to be released from the conservatorship.

Directly responding to claims the current set up takes advantage of Britney, her father, 68, told New York Post: “All these conspiracy theorists don’t know anything.

“The world don’t have a clue.

“It’s up to the court of California to decide what’s best for my daughter. It’s no one else’s business.”

A court date is set for August 22 which will re-evaluate the situation and decide if it should still be in place.

Britney rose to fame in the late nineties with hits such as …Baby One More Time.

She’s scored six number one albums on the Billboard 200 over the years.
