Caroline Flack's death was a 'shock to the system' says her best mate and PT

Caroline Flack ‘s good friend and personal trainer Bradley Simmonds has bravely opened up about the tragic death of the late Love Island star.

Caroline took her own life aged just 40 years old on February 15 as she awaited trial for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend during a late night incident at her home in Islington.

She always protested her innocence.

Speaking to Professor Green, during an Instagram Live workout session, Bradley said: “My good friend and client Caroline recently passed away and that was a tough, tough moment.

“It was a big shock to the system.

“It made me see that people who seem happy, who have a good career, it doesn’t matter, who you are or how successful you are, everyone can struggle.”

The fitness trainer added: “Things are often very different from the inside out.”

Shortly after her death, Caroline’s parents released an unpublished statement from their late daughter.

Caroline is understood to have wanted to put the message out ahead of her trial after reports of her arrest broke but she was allegedly advised against it.

In the statement, Caroline said: “For a lot of people, being arrested for common assault is an extreme way to have some sort of spiritual awakening but for me it’s become the normal.

“I’ve been pressing the snooze button on many stresses in my life – for my whole life.

“I’ve accepted shame and toxic opinions on my life for over 10 years and yet told myself it’s all part of my job. No complaining. The problem with brushing things under the carpet is… they are still there and one day someone is going to lift that carpet up and all you are going to feel is shame and embarrassment.”
