Casualty fans fume as tonight's show axed in major schedule-shakeup

Casualty viewers were raging this week after it was announced tonight’s episode was being axed.

The huge BBC schedule shake-up certainly left fans of the show unimpressed and they took to Twitter to broadcast their fury.

News of the cancellation was unveiled earlier on Casualty’s official Twitter, with the show sharing a post with their 399.9k followers.

The statement which left viewers upset read: “There is sadly no #Casualty on this weekend. But absence makes the heart grow fonder right?! We’ll be back next Saturday on BBC1” with a sad face emoji added at the end of their post.

Viewers went into meltdown after reading the disappointing news, and rushed to let their beloved programme know how gutted they were that there was no explanation for the cancellation.

One said: “What!!! Why!?!??”

While another wrote: “What? Why no casualty?”

A third added: “No. This is not ok.”

“Happens far too regularly” fumed another.

A fifth raged: “Again? it’s always being cancelled not good.”

“Explain to me why we are being robbed yet again of our beloved Casualty. Let me guess ya got something better to put on over it hmmm arrrrr why just why?”

Casualty made headlines recently after it was revealed they were donating medical equipment to the NHS amid the coronavirus pandemic.

BBC soaps Holby City and Casualty confirmed they would give medical items to hospitals to help the NHS during the Covid-19 crisis.

Executive Producer of Holly City and Casualty Simon Harper said in a statement: “Casualty and Holby City are all about celebrating NHS heroism, so we are only too happy to help out and do what we can for the courageous and selfless real-life medics battling this situation.”
