Celebrity Gogglebox fans welcomed two new faces to the show this evening, as Susanna Reid and Judge Rob Rinder joined the cast of armchair critics.
Unfortunately, their first appearance on the show kicked off with a playful argument, as the ITV stars argued about the rules concerning coronavirus.
As the duo have been self-isolating separately, they were forced to sit with a metre between them.
In the middle, Rob’s beloved pooch plonked himself on a blanket, cosily nestled on the sofa to Susanna’s left.
Rob tried to convince Susanna that dogs cannot carry coronavirus, as he urged the Good Morning Britain star to give the dog a friendly rub.
However, Susanna refused, and insisted that cats can carry the virus – meaning there is a chance that a dog could also be a carrier.
She claimed: “I read it in a news report.”
Refusing to listen, Rob replied: “First of all, I doubt your sources.”
As cheeky as ever, he added: “There are certain things undoubtedly you can pick up from pussies, but not Covid.”
Later, things came to a head when Rob ordered Susanna to change the channel and pick up the remote.
Susanna snapped: “I’ve touched your dog, I don’t want to touch the remote!”
Furious, Rob got out of his seat and picked up the remote control himself, only to angrily declare: “Now I’ve turned the f****** thing off!”
Luckily, the two pals managed to laugh the spat off, as they continued sipping their prosecco and watching telly side-by-side.
Celebrity Gogglebox airs on Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
