Charlotte Hawkins has opened up about how she spend lockdown 2020 – admitting while she was dreaming of beaches and sun the reality was fair less glamorous.
Charlotte Hawkins has opened up about how she had spent her time away from the camera – admitting she’s been dreaming of a beach holiday.
The blonde babe, 45, returned to Good Morning Britain on Friday morning to co-host the hit ITV breakfast show alongside Kate Garraway.
Opening up to Kate, Charlotte said: “The alarm clock hasn’t been going off at 2.45am so it’s been nice to have a lay in.
“It’s this job though, you still get up at 6am but you wake up and tune in.
“I was dreaming about being on sunny beach in another life but in reality I was painting the garage door.”
On Thursday’s show, Kate gave an important update on the heath of her husband Derek Draper.
The 53-year-old was hospitalised in March this year after contracting a strong strain of Covid-19.
Despite now being Covid free, Derek is still in hospital, fighting to recover from the damage the virus has caused to his body.
Kate said: “I am doing ok thank you.
“Everybody is onboard with ‘helping Kate’ – I am very lucky.
“Derek has had… I feel like I am boring people… he is stable but actually in between when I am not talking to you there are small ups and worrying downs.
“Actually, the last few days have been pretty stable so I’m keeping everything crossed really.
“It is though, it is hard.”
Kate continued: “You understand why they have to do it.
“They have to protract those inside but to do that they have to restrict footfall.
“Darcy has not been able to see Derek, his mum and dad are not able to see Derek.
“They have not seen him for a long long time.
“They live in Lancashire so they go into Tier 2 then it is difficult for them to argue about being allowed to see him.”
Good Morning Britain continues on ITV weekdays at 6am
