Cheryl has fallen victim to a cruel Twitter hoax after believing a street on coronavirus lockdown in Italy were singing her debut solo single Fight For This Love to keep their spirits up.
Cheryl, 36, shared the doctored clip with her millions of followers which read: “A whole neighbourhood in Italy is singing Fight For This Love by Cheryl while they’re on lockdown and self-quarantined. #COVIDー19.”
The Love Made Me Do It songstress captioned the post: “I’m not crying,” alongside a tearful emoji.
However, while the clip in question is real, the audio of Cheryl’s song being sang has been added on at a later date.
While Chezza seemingly fell for the trick, many of her fans were aware it wasn’t real.
The Girls Aloud babe’s tweet was met with a flurry of replies from fans who begged her to delete the post so not to look foolish.
One fan wrote: “Cheryl, delete this quick. It’s fake.”

Another added: “You do know this isn’t real don’t you, hun?!”
Meanwhile, a third continued: “Oh noooo they got you too.”
While the mistake is no doubt embarrassing for Cheryl, she isn’t the first celeb to fall for the viral computer wizardry.

Queen of Pop Madonna also retweeted the video – this time believing the Italians were singing her LGBT anthem I Rise.
Posting to her army of fans, Madge wrote: “Let Us All RISE UP. Everywhere around the world,” alongside the short clip.
On Saturday Katy Perry also suffered a similar fate.
Orlando Bloom’s fiancé posted to her 108 million followers another clip of an Italian street on lockdown with locals seemingly singing Roar. She added the caption: “You cannot break the human spirit. We are one in this.”
Katy signed off the post with a love heart emoji and an Italian flag emoji.
