Cilla Black's son releases never-before-seen footage of late mother

Cilla Black’s son Robert Willis has released an unseen video of his late mother ahead of the fifth anniversary of her passing.

The Blind Date host, who died at the age of 72, is seen in the heartwarming family footage enjoying her time with her nearest and dearest at home in Denham, Buckinghamshire.

The clips, which were filmed in September 1973, show Cilla admiring her idyllic rose garden, before enjoying some play time with Robert, who was three at the time, in the family kitchen.

In other unseen footage, the Surprise Surprise presenter gave a tour of her home and introduced her hubby and their three Briard pooches, Sophie, Ada and Walter.

The official footage of Cilla Black has been shared online

Cilla tells the camera that young son Robert, who had not long started nursery at the time, sweetly jokes that Robert is “camera shy” and “not like mum” in that domain.

Introducing the footage, Cilla says: “Really it’s just meant to show a few of the things that happen in our house on a typical day when I am the Palladium.’

“Now the first thing you will see is jolly old me arriving home after a drive down to the village to get my weekend shopping in.”

Robert previously told the Mirror he got “choked up” when he saw the unseen footage. Some of the clips resurfaced earlier this year, when they were shown on ITV’s Cilla Black: The Lost Tapes.

The heartwarming tapes were discovered by Robert and his younger brothers, Jack and Ben, when they were clearing out their mum’s home in Estepona, on the Costa Del Sol.

Cilla died in 2015 after she fell and hit her heard. The TV personality lost consciousness before suffering a stroke.

August 1 will mark five years since she died, but Robert decided to release the footage early in a touching tribute.

Addressing his mum’s fans, he wrote: “As I turn 50 today, here’s a little something special from our family archives… I hope you enjoy seeing this as much as my family and I have.”
