Coleen Nolan's son slams comedian for joke about cancer-stricken aunts

Coleen Nolan ‘s son has slammed a comedian who made a joke on social media about his aunts who are battling cancer.

Shane Nolan hit out at vile trolls for making jokes about his aunts Linda and Anne Nolan, and called out comedian Mark Jones who also made a cruel gag.

Linda, 61, and Anne, 69, were both diagnosed with the disease in March this year.

They have both since shaved their heads as they undergo chemotherapy together.

The comedian posted a screenshot of the front page of The Sun, which included a picture of Anne and Linda with no hair.

Jones, in a now-deleted tweet, captioned the photo: “Right Said Fred looking well.”

The tweet was screen-shotted before he deleted it, with many calling him out for his controversial post.

He was referring to the two stars of the I’m Too Sexy pop group, Fred and Richard Fairbrass, who are both bald.

Shane tweeted yesterday: “Imagine being one of those people who write horrible things online and think they’re funny and brave cos nobody can see or find them.

“Writing about someone’s who’s family is suffering with cancer, there really is some disgusting and vile people around. I don’t get it.”

Mark sparked outrage with his post, and later responded in another tweet: “You’re right. I apologise. I was totally out of order and will delete the tweet. I am very sorry for the offence caused by my stupid comment.”

One person replied to Shane’s tweet, saying: “I’m quite literally dumbstruck by it mate. I didn’t think he would do something so vile.”

Shane replied: “Sad thing is, I’m not. I get s**t everyday , but to get it from someone who has worked with my family and in the business just shocked me tbh.

“He’s apologised now and deleted the tweet so I won’t say anymore but I really wasn’t happy mate.”

Mark replied to Shane, writing: “Thank you Shane. I appreciate that hugely. I’ve tried to reply to the many people who have messaged me and apologise for my tweet. I don’t hide from my mistakes. Once again, I’m very sorry.”

The comedian continued to receive criticism for his joke, which led to Shane tweeting again.

He wrote: “Guys @mistermarkjones has apologised now. Was a stupid tweet and he feels a d**k. Let’s leave it at that. Just hope other people can learn from that. #Bekind.”
