Coleen Rooney shares 'fake Insta posts created to expose Rebekah Vardy account'

Coleen Rooney has shared a series of false Instagram posts which she alleges show Rebekah Vardy’s account leaked stories about her, court documents show.

The mum-of-four has included the three fake Instagram posts in her defence to explain why she thinks Rebekah’s account was behind the sharing of stories the press.

The Mirror reported that Coleen’s team presented a stinging 55-page document at London’s High Court on Friday in response to Rebekah’s libel action.

The document also alleges that Rebekah set up paparazzi shots of WAGS during the 2018 World Cup without their knowledge, and that she deliberately sat behind Coleen, 34, in the stands at Euro 2016 to maximise her own publicity.

She goes on to claim that Rebekah and her guests “abused” FA staff when they were told to move on this particular occasion.

Coleen also claimed that Jamie Vardy’s wife was the “Secret Wag” columnist who leaked private information about the wives of well-known footballers.

In her defence, Coleen also refers to Rebekah’s 2018 spat with Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding.

The pair had an alleged confrontation when Sarah dropped her bag at the National Television Awards and spotted a camera flash as she bent over to pick up the spilled contents.

Sarah, 38, accused Rebekah of taking a sneaky picture and stormed over to confront her.

Included in Coleen’s document were the three fake Instagram posts she shared to try and figure out who was selling stories to the press about her.

The first picture shows the back of an airline seat and is captioned: “Let’s go and see what this gender selection is all about,” implying that Coleen was jetting off somewhere to inquire about the process of having a baby girl.

In the second Instagram Story, Coleen had shared a selfie and teased that she was making decisions about her TV career and hinted at a stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! by mentioning Australia.

The third post shows a bottle of Cloudy Bay white wine and a scrunched face emoji after Coleen told how her basement was flooded.

Months later, Coleen revealed that all three stories were fake and she accused Rebekah of leaking them to the press as she was the only person who could view Coleen’s Instagram Story on her private account.

However, Rebekah denies the accusation and a High Court libel battle will take place within weeks.

Mr Justice Nicklin said a preliminary trial will decide the “natural and ordinary” meaning of Coleen’s posts.

Mum-of-five Rebekah is seeking substantial damages for libel, claiming the post by Coleen last October linking leaks to her resulted in her suffering “severe and extreme hostility and abuse”.

Coleen made the accusation on her Instagram account, which has 885,000 followers, and Twitter, which has 1.2 million.
