Coronation Street’s Maria Connor (Samia Ghadie) left her relationship with Gary Windass (Mikey North) hanging in the balance on tonight’s episode, as she admitted to having an affair.
Maria revealed she had snogged Ali Neeson (James Burrows) during a moment of weakness a few weeks ago, breaking the news to a furious Gary.
Assuming he wanted to end her engagement, Maria started to pack up her belongings, offering to move out.
However, certain eagle-eyed Corrie fans pointed out the conversation was taking place in Maria’s flat – not Gary’s.
Taking to their keyboards, they highlighted the blunder over Twitter, wondering why Maria was loading up her suitcases.
One fumed: “Get packing? It’s her flat…”
A second added: “Start packing? Thought it was her flat?!”

“Why is Maria packing – it’s her flat,” wondered a fourth.
And a fourth chimed: “Start packing?? Ain’t that Maria’s flat?? Did they move?”
Once Maria had her bags packed, she returned to the living room to say goodbye to Gary.
She explained: “I just packed a few basics up, I’ll come back for the rest.”
When Gary searched her for answers, she said: “As soon as I did it I knew it was a big mistake.”

Maria felt responsible for Ali’s recent hospitalisation, assuming he had taken an overdose of the prescription drug diazepam.
She reasoned: “He’s fragile but I just didn’t care, I pushed him too far and that’s why he’s taken an overdose.”
Knowing he was secretly responsible for Ali’s poor health, Gary was quick to forgive Maria, begging her to go ahead with their wedding.
Gary had previously arranged for gangster Sharon to drug Ali in secret, as payback for kissing Maria behind his back.

Faking forgiveness, Gary said: “I guess what I’m trying to say is I don’t blame you. I can’t be a hypocrite, can I? I mean come on, we’ve both made mistakes. Just don’t go.”
Will the truth of Gary’s meddling come to the surface?
