Coronation Street's Simon Gregson has fans in stitches with 'snatch' comments

Coronation Street star Simon Gregson left fans giggling with some of his latest tweets.

The Corrie star, who plays Steve McDonald on the ITV soap, took to the social media site this week to update fans on his film watching.

However, things took a very saucy turn.

The 45-year-old star was watching 2000 Guy Ritchie film Snatch when the incident happened.

He tweeted to his 247,000 followers: “Forgot how good snatch is.”

The post instantly began racking up attention as fans joked about the post.

One replied: “Sweetheart you need to capitalise titles if you don’t want a lot of double taking on your status updates *fans self*.”

While a second commented: “Hope you mean the film.”

A third asked: “Is that an euphemism?”

“I thought he meant f***y at first too.”

Simon quickly shared another tweet as he replied: “S**t, THE FILM.”

The next day he continued the joke though, as he tweeted: “I have to say I enjoyed snatch tonight even more than the last time.”

The tweets come as some light relief to Simon, who has had a tough few weeks.

It was announced back in April his wife Emma Gleave’s gran died of coronavirus – just hours after the actor revealed he had contracted the deadly virus himself.

Emma tweeted at the time: “881 people lost their lives today, one of those beautiful souls was my grandma!! Heartbroken… #stayathome Fly High Grandma… We love you.”

Coronation Street filming has currently halted as the soap conforms to the coronavirus lockdown rules.
