Corrie's Jack P Shepherd stocks up on booze as coronavirus self-isolation hits

Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd is ready to take on the coronavirus after heading to his local supermarket and stocking up on the essentials – booze.

The actor took to his Instagram story to give his 338,000 followers a look into his daily life, as the UK gets ready to head into self-isolation, if they aren’t already.

Due to the coronavirus panic, people have been buying massive quantities of groceries, making it near enough impossible for many to get essentials like pasta, hand wash and toilet roll.

But it seems Jack’s chosen store wasn’t letting anyone go hungry, as he shared videos of shelves stocked up with fresh bread.

Taking to his Instagram story, Jack said: “M&S, no one here. Look at this.

“Honestly, I feel like I’m on holiday coming to Marks and Spencer – everyone’s stress free, people are walking around in flip flops for f***’s sake.

“Look at this. Fresh bread, sliced, and it’s hot. It’s like paradise.”

In the next clip, Jack showed his shopping trolley, which included a few items such as toothpaste, bread and shower gel.

He could also be seen placing 12 bottles of wine in there, with people encouraged not to go to pubs for a drink.

The 32-year-old seems to be ready for a some self-imposed lock down.

He captioned the clip: “See you on the other side b****es.”

The David Platt actor is one of the lucky people in the entertainment industry whose job is carrying on as normal – or as normal as possible.

Earlier this week, ITV confirmed that production on Coronation Street would be going on as normal.

However, from March 30, the number of weekly episodes would drop from six to three.

There will then be just one episode instead of two on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Meanwhile, Emmerdale will drop from six episodes a week to five.

Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV
