Coronation Street star Kate Ford has tearfully asked fans to stop taking photos of her in public, after recognising her from the ITV soap while on the street.
The 43-year-old, who has played bad girl Tracy Barlow on the cobbles for the past 18 years, begged her followers to leave her alone in public, admitting she was struggling to “cope” with the attention.
Paired with a crying emoji, she shared the heartfelt request over Twitter earlier this month.
Kate said: “Please please can people ask to take a photo or video of me please, I find it so difficult to cope with when people do this without asking.

“I always oblige when asked x”
Fellow TV star Baga Chipz, who recently starred on Celebrity Masterchef, reached out to the soap star, recalling a friendly encounter in the past.
He said: “We met on the tube the once! I had to come over and ask! As I’m a huge fan. I get people whispering and taking pics now.. If anyone asks I always say yes.”

Another fan thanked Kate for her kindness after serving the actress in a high street shop during the festive period.
The grateful fan wrote: “Hey Kate, I once served you in HMV around Christmas time.
“It was my first day and you were so patient and polite with me, I felt under so much pressure but your respectfulness made my day.
“I hope people learn to respect you as a person and not as a celebrity with no feelings.”

Kate took over from actor Dawn Acton when she joined the cast of Corrie back in 2002, becoming Weatherfield’s resident trouble maker.
More recently, fans have got to see the softer side to her character, as Tracy supports husband Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) amid his son Ollie’s devastating health battle.
The little lad has been diagnosed with a rare incurable disease, marking heartbreak for Steve and mum Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).
Proving a solid support system for Steve, Tracy has been by his side throughout the diagnosis, offering comfort in his hour of need.
