Dan Walker was quick to shut down his co-host Louise Minchin on yesterday’s BBC Breakfast when she brought up a recent royal engagement.
The 43-year-old BBC star made a cameo in a video with Prince William, which showed the Duke of Cambridge taking a part in a Peter Crouch podcast about football.
Footie star Peter joined the Prince to discuss mental health in sport, as they enjoyed football, curry and karaoke on the grounds of Kensington Palace.
At the end of the clip, Dan could be seen chatting away on the football field, before the footage quickly faded out.
Clearly embarrassed about the regal gig, Dan tried to change the subject, letting viewers know Peter would be appearing on the show later in the morning.

However, his co-host Louise refused to let him away with it, and pointed out: “I saw your appearance in that piece.”
Hanging his head in mock embarrassment, Dan tried to end the conversation, saying: “Oh I don’t want to talk about that.
“You know when the Palace rings, you have to answer.”

Louise went on to poke fun at her longtime colleague, joking that he hadn’t been invited for the post-match curry with Peter and William.
She said: “Yeah but they didn’t invite you for the curry. [You’re] a bit upset.”
Dan laughed and replied: “They didn’t, no. One date only, that was it.”

Recent years have seen Prince William step up in campaigning on mental health issues, urging people to talk through the Heads Together charity initiative.
Making a statement about his new endeavour with Peter Crouch, the Prince said: “We all have mental health, and we all have to stay mentally fit.
“It’s a strength to talk about your mental health, it’s not a weakness. You know if you’re not feeling well, something’s bothering you, talk about it – it’s not a problem.”
BBC Breakfast airs on weekdays at 6am on ITV.
