Danny Cipriani tells of fiancé's heartbreaking loss of baby at 6 months pregnant

Danny Cipriani has taken to Instagram to reveal his fiancé lost their baby when she was 6 months pregnant.

The England rugby star told in the heartfelt post how Victoria Rose had even named their son River before tragedy struck.

He also explained that by supporting each other through their devastating loss the pair were brought closer together.

He wrote: “At 24 weeks we lost River, our son.

“Was and is always going to be difficult, but we supported each other through it and found our love grew and got strong.”

Danny admitted the grief brought up old trauma.

“It’s been a challenging year, for many different reasons,” he said.

“I’ve had to emotionally overcome and heal in different ways that I haven’t experienced before.

“In doing so it brought up old trauma and wounds that were unresolved.”

Danny explained his post about his loss wasn’t intended to be a “sad” one.

And he maintained he’s trying to stay positive and focus on rugby and spending time with his future wife.

Danny explained how he was looking forward to becoming a dad.

He said: “The most beautiful thing happened, I was going to be a father and I fell in love. Deeply in love.”

He said: “This break now from last season and reflecting is a special place to be.

“I’m more determined than ever to keep growing learning and loving with my woman.

“I’m also locked in to represent myself the best I can on the field which to this day I still don’t think I have done… The future is exciting it’s going to take hard work. I’m ready.”

In August Danny announced he is set to wed Victoria Rose after he got down on one knee.

Taking to social media, the rugby player uploaded a lengthy Instagram professing his love to his “best friend,” writing that he “can’t wait to marry in October.”

Posting a sweet snap of himself alongside fiancé, he said: “You make me the happiest man in the world.

“I love waking up with you every morning, not knowing which one of our personalities are going to arise, and how we fall in love with each other over and over again.”
