Stardust’s official trailer has been shared online ahead of its American studio released but fans of David Bowie were less than impressed after watching it.
The film focuses on the iconic singer before he transforms into Ziggy Stardust, his famous alter-ego around the time of his first tour in America in 1971.
Johnny Flynn was officially announced as the lead character in August 2019 and the trailer has shared the first look of the 37-year-old in action.
An official description of the movie reads: “David Bowie is one of the most seminal legends in music history; but who was the man behind the many faces?

“In 1971, a 24-year-old fledgeling David Bowie is sent to America to promote his newest record, The Man Who Sold the World.
“Leaving behind his pregnant wife Angie (Jena Malone), Bowie and his band embark on a makeshift coast-to-coast promotional tour with struggling Mercury Records publicist Rob Oberman (Marc Maron).”
However, the film does not feature music by the late singer and his relatives do not approve of any biopic.

David’s son, Duncan Jones who he shares with Angie Bowie tweeted: “I’m not saying this movie is not happening. I honestly wouldn’t know.
“I’m saying that as it stands, this movie won’t have any of dads music in it, & I can’t imagine that changing.
“If you want to see a biopic without his music or the families blessing, that’s up to the audience.”

After the film trailer dropped, dedicated fans instantly took to social media to share their thoughts amongst one another.
One fan commented: “Wow… This looks terrible, and that’s coming from a massive Bowie fan.”
While a second added: “It should be a federal offence to have a movie about David Bowie look so lifeless and sepia.”
A third went on to say: “Why you gotta do my man Bowie like that? This is embarrassing.”
“Looks more like a parody,” commented a fourth.
