Dermot O’Leary joked he had fed his wife Dee Koppang “glass” when she had lost her sense of taste while she was pregnant.
Taking over This Morning hosting duties on Friday, alongside Alison Hammond, he enjoyed a cooking segment with Phil Vickery.
Soon, the ingredient of sea salt was brought up and 47-year-old Dermot confessed he’d once cooked his wife a meal using it but she’d been left seriously confused.
He revealed she’d asked if he’d tried to serve her glass, because she couldn’t taste the saltiness of the little see-through rocks.
Dermot explained: “I was cooking for my wife when she was pregnant.

“We both tested positive for [coronavirus] antibodies. It was all cool but she lost her sense of taste and smell.
“She turned round to me during the meal and said, ‘Is this glass?’
“I was like, ‘Hmm, no. I haven’t put glass in your dinner. It’s salt.'”
X Factor presenter Dermot then turned to the camera and joked: “It was glass.”

Dee gave birth to their first child earlier this year – a baby boy named Kasper.
They announced the birth on Dee’s Instagram account, sharing a photo of a cute baby onesie and a rabbit blanket.
On the onesie was: “Koppang O’Leary Productions Est. 2020.”
She wrote in the caption: “Welcome to the world baby Koppang O’Leary.
“We’re delighted to announce that we’ve had a baby! A little boy born on Tuesday 23rd June 2020 (Sankthansaften/Midsummer for us Norwegians) at 8.19am, weighing in at 6lb 13oz.
“Enjoying the cuddles in the newborn bubble… cats yet to be 100% convinced. Lots of love, Dee and Dermot.”
They announced the pregnancy in February in an excited statement.
The couple said: “We’re pleased to announce that we’re expecting a little Koppang O’Leary.”
The photo showed a floral wreath with the message: “Koppang O’Lear productions presents ‘New Arrival’ coming soon.”
