Diversity's Black Lives Matter BGT dance 2nd most hated TV moment of the decade

Diversity’s Black Lives Matter-themed performance on last week’s Britain’s Got Talent has become one of the most controversial TV moments of all time.

According to new stats from Ofcom, over 10,000 people made an official complaint about the four-minute performance.

During the routine, Ashley Banjo took the lead before referencing the killing of George Floyd in America earlier this year.

In total, 10,267 people logged complaints about the routine, which included Floyd’s final words “I can’t breathe” as a US police officer held him to the ground with his knee.

The thought-provoking routine is now the second-most complained about TV moment of the decade.

The most complained about moment was Celebrity Big Brother’s infamous “punch gate” between Roxanne Pallett and Ryan Thomas.

A staggering 25,327 made official complaints about how the actress behaved and how CBB dealt with the issue.

In third place was Kim Woodburn’s appearance on Loose Women where she clashed with Coleen Nolan and accused show bosses of tricking her so she could be ganged up on on camera.

The toe-curling moment picked up 7,912 complaints to Ofcom.

Last month, it was confirmed that Diversity frontman Ashley was replacing Simon Cowell as head judge on the hit ITV series.

Simon was forced to step back from the show after a horror fall left him needing emergency surgery.

Cowell fell off his new electric bike while trying it out at his Malibu home and broke his back.

Luckily surgery was successful but doctors have advised the media tycoon to take time out to recover.

Ashley joins Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams on the panel.
