Dream Street singer Chris Trousdale dies aged 34 after 'coronavirus battle'

Dream Street singer Chris Trousdale has died at the age of 34, a family member has confirmed.

The former boyband member died after he had contracted coronavirus.

A family member confirmed to TMZ that Chris had died on Tuesday night at a hospital in Burbank, California.

Chris was best known for singing alongside Jesse McCartney, Greg Raposo, Matt Ballinger and Frankie Galasso in American pop group Dream Street.

He joined the band in 1999 when he was just 14 years old.

After the success of their debut album, also called Dream Street, they shot to global fame.

But just three years later, in 2002, the band broke up because the members’ parents sued the creators Louis Baldonieri and Brian Lukow.

The parents claimed that the band makers had allowed the boys to be “exposed to booze, women, and pornography”.

The lads were released from their contracts after the parents won the civil case.

Chris continued with a solo career through the Disney Channel but eventually but things on the back burner so he could care for his sick mother.

Years later, in 2014, Chris announced on Twitter that he’d joined the Spectra Music Group to work on his solo album.

He also appeared on a handful of television shows, including Days Of Our Lives, Shake It Up, Austin & Ally and Lucifer.

The former child star’s final Instagram post was of a blacked out square to participate in the Black Out Tuesday and The Show Must Be Paused movement.

It has been flooded with “RIP” comments following the news of Chris’ death.
