EastEnders star Jake Wood has been sharing private messages from fans on his Instagram account lately.
And the Max Branning’s star’s latest post has had his 100,000 followers in stitches.
Jake, 48, took to his account to post a message from an unknown user which read: “My mum says you look like a rusty sponge.”
Seemingly not bothered by the troll, Jake hilariously wrote back: “Give her my love.”
The post had fans giggling as it racked up thousands of likes and tons of comments.
One fan exclaimed: “A rusty sponge!! Think this is my new insult to use!!! Brilliant!”

As another added: “Give her my love… superb!!!!”
A third chimed in: “I love you, you are great.”
As a fourth cheeky fan wrote: “I wouldn’t mind a rub down with this rusty sponge.”
Other messages from fans Jake has shared recently include one where a follower said they think he should be named ‘Claud’, while another said they had messaged their hamster after him.

EastEnders bosses announced Jake was leaving his role as Max Branning back in September.
The fan favourite has played Max since 2006.
Speaking about his departure, Jake confirmed: “I’ve had 15 wonderful years at EastEnders and have made some truly great friends.
“I’ll of course miss everyone there but I’m grateful they have left the door open for Max and I’m excited to see what the next chapter holds.”
EastEnders’ executive producer Jon Sen added: “Jake is a truly wonderful actor and EastEnders have been extremely lucky to have him for so long.
“We have a big storyline for Max that starts in the coming weeks and we are all very excited to see that play out.”
