Elton John looks set to sit down with his ex-wife Renate Blauel to hammer out an agreement away from the public eye after she filed a lawsuit against him.
Earlier this year the 67-year-old launched a £3million bid to the courts over claims the music superstar breached the terms of his divorce agreement.
Renate claimed that Elton beached their privacy agreement by covering details about their relationship in his 2018 Biopic Rocketman and his Best Selling memoir ME.
She adds both gave her health problems.
In court documents Renate states: “She has, since the release of the film, suffered recurring nightmares, agoraphobia, fear, depression, anxiety.”

According to The Sun, court papers now show they are trying to settle the case outside of court.
They added that legal teams have until 4pm on October 13 to reach a deal and avoid a public court showdown.
If a settlement is reached is is likely no more information will be made public about the case.
Renate’s initial filing claimed that Elton’s account of their romance was “seriously misrepresented the nature of their relationship”.

In particular, she disputed the claim that Sir Elton didn’t want to have kids until he met his husband David Furnish.
She alleges the I’m Still Standing hitmaker did try to have children with her during their marriage.
Renate’s legal team went on to allege that she requested he removed the section from his book but she refused to do so.

The duo were married from 1984-1988.
Defending the superstar, Elton’s team argue that Renate’s story has been ‘inflated’ to allow her to try and gain cash from his estate.
He argues no breach of the terms of their agreement has occurred.
They also add that Renate has not previously complained when Sir Elton had spoken publicly about their time together.
