Emmerdale has already returned to filming, bringing their temporary lockdown suspension to an end.
This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield announced that six lockdown-themed episodes are already in the works.
Soap expert Sharon Marshall appeared on the show, as Holly declared: “The soap has resumed filming for the viewers to film six new episodes in June.”
Footage from behind-the-scenes in the Yorkshire film set was shared, showing Cain Dingle actor Jeff Hordley in the middle of a scene.
ITV bosses have put strict safety measures in place to protect the health of the cast and crew, ensuring just two characters feature per scene.

Sharon explained: “They’re keeping two metres away from each other at all times.”
The actors are responsible for their own hair and makeup, and the cast has been encouraged to use items from their own wardrobes on the show.
Sharon revealed that six lockdown-inspired episodes will air as soon as the pre-recorded scenes run out, following different Emmerdale characters’ experience of the quarantine period.

She said: “It’s going to look at what the nation is going through. They’re going to feature the weekly clap in there and really mention the people the NHS are keeping safe.”
Sharon continued: “The hope is that any delay in filming will be absolutely minimal. They’re working at a cracking rate, they’re literally filming one episode a day.”
Each episode will be dedicated to two characters, with Sharon explaining that “we’re going to look at things like tensions” between couples on the show.

Titled the “lockdown episodes,” each one will follow either Sam Dingle and Lydia Hart, Cain and Aaron Dingle, Chas Dingle and Paddy Kirk, or Marlon Dingle, Al Chapman and Ellis Chapman.
This Morning airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm.
