Emmerdale viewers were up in arms tonight when they spotted a blunder in a scene between DI Malone and Billy Fletcher.
Billy (Jay Kontzle) was called into the station, where DI Malone (Mark Womack) wrongfully accused him of starting a fight in a night club.
Even though Billy was innocent of the violent crime, the crooked copper managed to convince his cronies to lie on his behalf.
In exchange for his freedom, DI Malone wanted Billy to join Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), helping him with a mysterious task.
Threatening Billy in the police station, DI Malone promised to get little Lucas removed from Dawn Taylor’s (Olivia Bromley) care if he ignored his demands.
Billy was left conflicted, wondering whether to give in to DI Malone’s twisted blackmail.
However, watching from home, viewers were left rolling their eyes as they pointed out the interrogation room would be likely to feature CCTV.
One fumed: “#Emmerdale don’t all police interview rooms have CCTV? I enjoy watching Emmerdale but this too far fetched.”
A second added: “There are cameras all over police stations with a lot the public don’t see but in this show there are f*****g none.”
While a third chimed: “#emmerdale B******s. All is caught on CCTV!”
“So they have no CCTV of Malone winding Billy up in interview room,” added a fourth.
After he was released, Billy headed to Cain and Will in an effort to convince them to submit to DI Malone’s cruel demands.
While Will was open to completing one more job for the dodgy policeman, Cain downright refused.
Suddenly, DI Malone barrelled into the room, pleading his case by saying: “One more job and I leave you all alone for good and your families.”
Will it end in tears for the troubled trio?
Emmerdale airs on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7pm on ITV.
