Emmerdale fans gobsmacked as Andrea suddenly leaves soap after ending Jamie feud

Emmerdale fans bid farewell to a lead character this evening, as Andrea Tate left the Yorkshire dales in dramatic scenes.

After realising her husband Jamie had been having a sordid affair with Belle Dingle, she tried everything in her power to keep their marriage together.

Eventually resorting to blackmail, she threatened to tell the police he was the one who hit Moira Dingle in a hit and run accident.

However, after weeks of heartache, Andrea finally decided to call it a day, and packed her bags once and for all.

Announcing her exit, she said: “I’ve packed all my stuff in the car, I’m leaving Jamie.”

Initially, Jamie was terrified she would take their daughter Millie with her, as he quipped: “So this is it, you’re taking her away from me?”

Andrea replied: “I’m not going to stop you from seeing her.”

Trying to make amends, she added: “This, us – were destroying each other.”

Accepting the sorry state of their marriage, she added: “I’m just as much to blame, we pushed each other too far

Jamie was shocked to learn she was bringing an end to their feud

“All because I thought I could make you love me. It’s pathetic.”

Leaving Jamie stricken, Andrea closed the door behind her, leaving the village behind as she embarks on a new life in a mystery location.

Taking to Twitter, Emmerdale fans were stunned by her unexpected exit, after predicting their marital feud would last a lot longer.

Belle made it clear their relationship was over, despite Andrea’s departure

One said: “So Andrea goes to all these lengths and then gives up on Jamie in an instant? Meh. I was hoping we had the next big soap b***h on our hands!”

A second added: “‘What kinda woman blackmails her husband into loving her?’ EXACTLY Andrea. Is she really just gonna let Jamie go after everything that’s happened?”

“I didn’t expect that from Andrea,” added a third.

As soon as Andrea left, Jamie picked up his phone and called Belle, hoping to patch things up and put the past behind them.

However, Belle instantly crushed any chance of a reconciliation, as she confessed she could never forgive him for hurting Moira.

Will Jamie turn himself into the police, or will he try and live with the guilt?

Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
