Emmerdale fans were convinced Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) was about to land Vinny (Bradley Johnson) in trouble tonight, as he pawned off his mum’s wedding ring.
Last night saw Sam Dingle (James Hooton) hand over Alice Edith Rose Dingle’s gold ring to their son, 14 years after her tragic death.
With Sam and Lydia’s (Karen Blick) wedding on the horizon, he had been conflicted about replacing the wedding band – but felt Samson was a worthy recipient.
The father and son hugged it out, as Samson promised to care for the ring for years to come.
Unfortunately, things took a turn on tonight’s episode when Samson begged his dad to fund a school trip to France.

Sam and Lydia explained their finances couldn’t cover a trip across the pond – meaning Samson would miss out on meeting his French pen pal.
Later in the episode, the teen started acting a little shifty, which raised viewers suspicions.
Just before the credits rolled, it was revealed he had sold his mum’s wedding ring to afford the school trip, even though he knew how much it meant to his dad.

Pawning it off in secret, he received £300 for the wedding ring – though a look of guilt crossed his face afterwards.
Taking to Twitter, fans predicted Samson would let Vinny take the blame for the sale of the ring, resulting in more heartbreak for Sam.
One said: “Bet Samson will sell his mum’s ring to pay for the trip…”

A second added: “Yep was obvious. And it’s disgusting that he lets Vinny get the blame for it.”
While a third chimed: “I bet Samson has or will sell Sam’s wedding ring to get money for French trip. Calling it now.”
Will Samson come clean?
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7pm on ITV with a double bill on Thursdays.
