Enter the Dragon actor John Saxon has passed away from pneumonia at the age of 83, his wife confirmed.
The US actor had a career that spanned 60 years, including Nightmare on Elm Street film in 1984 and as Roper in the 1973 Bruce Lee classic Enter the Dragon, that brought martial arts movies into the mainstream.
His third wife Gloria told Hollywood Reporter that her husband died on Saturday in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
John was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1935 and began acting as a young teenager, making the acting debut in the 1954 Judy Holliday It Should Happen to You, in an uncredited role.

While his first credited role was in an episode of TV show Medic where he played a character named Danny Ortega in 1955.
John also won a Golden Globe for his role opposite Marlon Brando in 1996 film The Appaloosa.
He also starred as Rashid Ahmed, Joan Collins’ character Alexis Colby’s love interest, in hit US series Dynasty.

John also gained a following for his recurring role as police lieutenant Thompson in the Nightmare in the Elm Street film series.
Tributes have been pouring in for the latestar, with screenwriter Larry Karaszewski declaring the late actor: “a great guy full of stories.”
Director Joe Dante tweeted: “I had the privilege of working with him once in 2006. Very good actor, very nice guy.”
While iconic singer and actress Nancy Sinatra tweeted: “Godspeed, Johnny.”
He was married three times over his lifetime with marriages to screenwriter Mary Ann Murphy between 1967 and 1979, airline attendant and actress Elizabeth Saxon between 1987 and 1992 and, since 2008, cosmetician Gloria Martel.
He is survived by one son and has a sister named Dolores.
