Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Galyn Gorg has died after cancer battle

Galyn Gorg has died aged 55.

The actress famed for her appearances in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Robocops 2 passed away on July 14, just one day before her birthday it has been revealed.

Gorg also starred in M.A.N.T.I.S, one of the first black superhero television shows.

Her sister revealed via her Facebook page that the former actress had been diagnosed with cancer “throughout her entire body and lungs.”

The actress who described herself as an “actress, dancer and producer,” is believed to have only been given several days to live but remained optimistic during her battle.

July 12 saw her sister share a social media post saying: “My sister says she wants a miracle, please. Prayers.”

A heartbreaking Facebook post by Galyn’s former colleague and friend, Joe McNeal read: “Thank you, everyone, for the prayers for Galyn Gorg and her family.

“As of 3:32 pm MST today, Galyn entered into heaven. She is now dancing with the angels. All that knew her will treasure the memories of what an amazing, humble loving person she was. Please continue prayers for her family.”
