School of Rock hit the big screen in 2004 and fast became a smash hit thanks to its cast of starry-eyed children along with witty one-liners from the film’s lead Jack Black.
The film features Dewey Finn (Jack Black), an amateur rock enthusiast, who slyly takes up his friend’s substitute teacher’s job.
Holding no qualifications for the role, he instead starts training the students to form a band in order to compete in the coveted Battle of the Bands.
Following global success, the flick ended up grossing $131 million (£107 million) worldwide on a budget of $35 million (£29 million) — and was the highest-grossing musical comedy of all time until Pitch Perfect 2 knocked it off the top spot in 2015.
Here’s what the star’s have been up to since:

Jack Black enjoyed an illustrious career prior to appearing in School of Rock, having starred in 2000’s High Fidelity alongside John Cusack and next to Gwyneth Paltrow in Shallow Hal.
Since portraying the zany Dewey Finn in the movie, the Hollywood A-Lister has racked up numerous credits in box office hits such as the Jumanji remake, Gulliver’s Travels, and The Holiday.
The actor has been nominated for two Golden Globes, and on September 18, 2018, he received a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
Alongside his acting career, Jack is the lead singer and guitarist for the comedy rock/hard rock band Tenacious D along with Kyle Gass.

From 2007 through 2012, she starred on the hit Nickelodeon series iCarly and was rumoured to have made $180,000 (£147,000) per episode – making her one of the highest-paid child actors on TV.

Most recently, she starred in sci-fi flick 3022, which has a limited release across the States.

Joey Gaydos played Zack Mooneyham – the guitarist of the school band who had to deal with a father who didn’t approve of his musical dreams.
And it seems art mirrored real life when it came to his musical ambitions, as following the film’s release, Joey dropped his self-titled album, Joey Gaydos Jr., through Red Penguin Records.
Having moved away from acting, he now performs solo and with the band Stereo Jane.
In February 2019, Joey hit the headlines after he was arrested for stealing guitars from multiple music stores in Sarasota, Venice, and North Port, Florida.
Caught on camera, he was later charged with two counts of grand theft and one count of shoplifting, according to Sarasota and Manatee County Sheriff’s jail records.

Caitlin Hale starred as Marta, best known as Blondie, the group’s pigtail-loving backing singer.
Her film credits have been lacklustre since School of Rock having put her acting career on ice in order to concentrate on her studies.
She attended Arizona State University, where she majored in journalism and public relations, and returned to acting following her college stint.
In 2018, she worked as a script consultant on the short film Typecast; and recently returned to the screen having landed the roles of Sydney on the animated children’s show Max & Wrigley and Kathy in the horror film Grimmerson Manor.

Brain Falduto portrayed Billy, known as fancy pants, the group’s stylist who said the iconic line: “You’re tacky and I hate you”.
After majoring in theatre performance and arts administration at Wagers College, he has worked with a handful of radio stations in New York.
Turning his attention to music, he released his debut EP, Love One Another in 2017, and in 2019, he dropped his very first studio album, Stage Two.

Sarah Silverman – Patty Di Marco

Sarah Silverman played Patty Di Marco, Ned Schneebly’s girlfriend, who was tired of Dewey Finn (Jack Black) staying in their apartment.
The actress, who has enjoyed a successful career as a stand-up comedienne, has starred in her own film Sarah Silverman: Jesus is Magic in 2005, which earned mixed reviews from critics, as well as flicks like The Muppets, Smile Back and Punching Henry.
In a 2007 episode of The Sarah Silverman Show, Silverman played a character in a sketch who wore blackface and remarked “I look like the beautiful Queen Latifah.”
On a 2019 episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast, Silverman revealed that the sketch had caused her to be fired from an unnamed movie.
In addition to discussing her regular use of marijuana on talk-show Conan and at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards, the actress has been vocally against racial bias and unfair arrests from marijuana possession.
She supports social justice programs to find work opportunities for non-violent offenders and was a primary investor in Lowell Herb Co, aiming to end marijuana prohibition in the United States.
