When Caitlyn Jenner announced she to the world she was transgender, step daughter Kim Kardashian was nothing but positive.
Caitlyn gave a powerful interview with Diane Sawyer in April 2015 before showing off her stunning new look on the front cover of Vanity Fair the following month.
Kim was one of the first people that Caitlyn told – and she felt very supported by her step daughter.
“She’s beautiful, and I’m so proud that she can just be her authentic self. I guess that’s what life is about,” gushed Kim.
However, there were tensions when Caitlyn accused ex Kris Jenner of making her feel “weak and inferior” in a series of explosive interviews about their marriage.
Furious Kris vehemently denied Caitlyn’s claims that she knew all about her desire to be a woman – and was clearly upset during an October 2015 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

“He can go f*** himself. I honestly wish I never met this man. I mean, just f*** you, Bruce,” she yelled down the phone to Kim as she hit back at Caitlyn’s claims.
It was at this point that Kim’s compassion began to wane as she stuck up for her mother.
“All Caitlyn can talk about is that my mum mistreated her and was awful and all these really rude things, when there’s no reason to bash my mum,” she said.
At the apparent behest of her husband Kayne West, Kim eventually thawed and tried to remain “neutral”, helping Caitlyn get ready for the ESPY Awards in July 2016.
Kim spent the day at Caitlyn’s Malibu home helping her get ready for the big event and shared updates on her Snapchat story.
While Kris was aware that Kim was attending the awards to support Caitlyn, she was outraged that she had helped style her ex.

Furious Kris exploded with rage on an episode of KUWTK, branding her daughter a “f***ing traitor” during a phone call.
“I want loyalty. I don’t want f***ing neutral. I’m trying to be as gracious as I can, I’m trying to be as understanding as I can. I’m betrayed. I’ve been f***ed over on so many levels that your head would spin,” the matriarch fumed.
She added: “Kim, you are a f***ing traitor. You’re not going to f***ing play this game anymore.”
And just when it looked as though the familial animosity was at an all-time high, Caitlyn released her tell all book, The Secrets Of My Life.
Caitlyn shared intimate details of their “uncomfortable” sex life with Kris and claimed she kept her female clothes in a locked closet with Kris’ permission.
“I tell Kris about my gender issues before I make love to her. This will always be a subject of dispute between us,” wrote Caitlyn.

The Kardashian girls were fuming and could not understand why Caitlyn was so “angry” at Kris.
Kim accused her step-parent of trying to achieve success at the family’s expense, while Kourtney branded Caitlyn’s claims “pathetic” on their reality show.
Even Kendall, who had remained close to Caitlyn, was livid – banging the kitchen table in fury.
Asked what the chances were of Kris and Caitlyn ever speaking again, Kim sniped, “Zero, one, no, two per cent and those are Kendall and Kylie. All fair, I think.”
“She goes around dissing the Kardashians but those are the kids that you raised, if you have a problem with them you raised them,” she raged.
“It makes no sense to me that she would go around bashing them for no reason, that’s insane.”
What followed was a prolonged estrangement followed with Kim, Kourtney and Khloe apparently refusing to speak to Caitlyn.

While discussing her book on Good Morning Britain in September 2017, Caitlyn revealed she had not spoken with Kim for nine months.
“I love Kim so much. It’s such a huge loss in my life not having her there anymore. It’s really sad,” admitted Caitlyn.
“I love all my children. I spent 25 years raising these kids.”
Caitlyn did stress that her decision to come out as transgender had no impact on her relationship with Kim.
“I love Kim so much, and have a lot of respect for her as a mother and business person,” Caitlyn continued.
“She was one of the first people I told when I came out and she was so straightforward with me.
“My kids have all been so supportive from day one – especially Kendall and Kylie. But the Kardashian side? I don’t really talk to them very often now and that’s something I have to deal with. Fortunately though, I have a lot of children.”

However, Cailtyn hit back by claiming the Kardashians needed to take some of the blame.
“It’s been a little bit tough over the last couple of years on the Kardashian side,” Caitlyn said at a Cambridge University talk in November 2017.
“They don’t want me in their lives, they bashed me pretty badly. It’s devastating when your kids do that. It really hurt.
“In the book I express some opinions and got shot down. It was not about the Kardashians. They were only mentioned on 20 pages.
“They made it more about them on television. The book was about my life. That’s caused a lot of the separation between us.”

During an appearance on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories later that year, Caitlyn once again fuelled the fire.
She confessed she sent Kim a copy of her book but removed the section about her transition because she didn’t “trust” her own family not to leak it to the press.
“No I didn’t tell anybody. Why? It’s none of their business”, I didn’t want them to leak it to the press. There was no reason for them to know about it,” she argued.
On other occasions she pondered whether her actual transition was the reason why her children stayed away.
It was too much for seething Khloe, who claimed Caitlyn was playing the “victim”.
“I’m the victim, I’m the victim, they don’t want to see me’,” she raged on Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
“Oh f*** off and it’s not because you’re trans. That’s not why I’m not talking to you. I’m not talking to you because you’re a bad, mean person.”

Last October, Kylie hosted a star-studded party for Caitlyn’s 70th birthday.
Kendall, Kim and Kourtney attended the bash, but Khloe was a no show due to a prior work commitment.
However, Khloe recently claimed she is on good terms with Caitlyn at last after building bridges.
“When I see Caitlyn, it’s fine,” explained Khloe.
“I think we’ve really come a long way. It was a struggle, I think for all of us, at first the transition. Not because she was transitioning, I think, from just how it was all handled.
“Now we’re all in a really good place. We all just want everybody to be happy with whoever they are.”
