As coronavirus continues to spread, and more and more events were being cancelled, Glastonbury Festival fans were anxiously awaiting news.
Now the popular festival has released a statement saying the Glastonbury 2020 is cancelled.
This is due to the “new government measures announced this week”.
The government has advised Brits against attending social gatherings, such as pubs and theatres to limit the spread of the COVID-19 disease.
The statement read: “We are so sorry to announce this, but Glastonbury 2020 will have to be cancelled, and this will be an enforced fallow year for the Festival.”
It is understandable that those who purchased festival tickets will now be wondering what their rights are.

Coronavirus: What you need to know
The statement cleared up that people have two options.
You can either get a refund of your deposit, or you can let the ticket roll over until next year.
This will guarantee you a ticket for Glastonbury 2021, but you will not be refunded your deposit.

This was explained in the statement: “We understand that it is not always easy to secure a Glastonbury ticket, which is why we would like to offer all those people the chance to roll their £50 deposit over to next year, and guarantee the opportunity to buy a ticket for Glastonbury 2021.
“Those who would prefer a refund of that £50 will be able to contact See Tickets in the coming days in order to secure that.
“This option will remain available until September this year. For those who are happy to roll their deposit over, that will happen automatically.
“Further information – including details on rolling over coach packed, official accommodation bookings and local Sunday tickets – will be added to our website in the coming days.”
For any enquiry about your ticket, contact See Tickets via their Customer Services page, or call 0115 896 0073.
