Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway has been given a new hope for her husband Derek Draper, who is in a coma after contracting coronavirus earlier this year.
Kate has been able to speak to Derek on the phone regularly, however she hasn’t been sure he has been able to hear her.
The couple have been forced apart for more than two months as Derek remains in hospital.
However a fan has given her some new hope after revealing that their husband, who had been in a similar situation, confirmed he had been able to hear her calls.
The fan told Kate on Twitter: “My husband was on a ventilator for 32 days with Covid-19, he is now home and recovering well.

“Stay strong and positive. Praying for you all.
“Should also say my husband said he could hear me on the phone while on the ventilator… so keep doing what you’re doing.”
This week will be different for Kate, who has been taking part in the Clap For Carers each week on a Thursday night.
Last week was the final clap after two months.

Kate has spoke of how much the weekly clap has effected her for the positive, lifting her spirits to applaud the NHS and carers with her two children.
She explained that she cried during last week’s clap when thinking about how it was the final one.
The I’m A Celeb star said on Instagram: “I must admit I felt the tears come tonight to think it’s coming to an end while our fear for Derek goes on.
“But even if we don’t clap next Thursday it won’t diminish my eternal thanks to all in the NHS.
“They are keeping Derek alive and every one of them is fighting as hard as Derek is to give us the chance to be reunited.
“Hope has to keep us all going doesn’t it? I am having to find new ways of staying strong every day for Darcey and Billy, as I know Derek would want me to.
“It’s not easy but when I think of how hard Derek is fighting and the bravery of all in the NHS it helps.”
