GMB's Ranvir Singh spills details on awkward holiday encounter with show boss

Good Morning Britain presenter Ranvir Singh returned to the ITV show today from her holiday.

And the host shared an awkward encounter with viewers as she presented alongside Adil Ray on Wednesday’s show.

Ranvir, 43, said her trip abroad wasn’t exactly the break from work she had planned.

As she giggled, Ranvir told Adil that as she arrived to check in to her hotel, she spotted her boss Neil Thompson, who edits the show, right next to her.

The star said she was shocked to find out that they had booked the same holiday.

Not only that, but they were actually next door to each other in their hotel suites.

Making the most of it though, the pair ended up enjoying dinners together.

Talking to his co-star, Adil joked: “You’ve been on holiday with the boss!

“This is a big surprise here we are all very shocked at Good Morning Britain, it was a big revelation!”

Laughing, Ranvir replied: “I have to clear this up immediately, so I went to the lakes, which was lovely, hundreds of miles away.

“As I was driving up this lovely driveway of this very swish hotel, it was very nice, lovely.”

Talking about the moment she met boss Neil she said they both gasped, adding: “I said, ‘Hello!’ And I was thinking, ‘Tell me he’s just checked out…’

“No, he had just checked in an hour before I was checking in, we were both there for the whole week!”

A photo of Ranvir and her son Tushaan then flashed up on-screen as she was seen with boss Neil and his wife, plus Ranvir’s dog, sitting outside enjoying a drink.

She added: “I feel sorry for Neil, who wants to see one of their staff on holiday!?”

Ranvir also said Neil’s wife was a “very interesting woman” as they bonded during their trip.

Talking about being in rooms next to each other, Ranvir continued: “It was cosy, it was really cosy. And my contract negotiations are going really well!”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am
