Susanna Reid expressed her concerns about Piers Morgan ‘s health following his return from America.
The Good Morning Britain host feared her co-presenter may have contracted coronavirus after his February half-term jaunt to the States.
His absence didn’t go unnoticed by viewers who showered the 54-year-old with gifts, including a wooly hat, a bright pink tie, and a half-naked photograph.
“I’m rather ashamed I haven’t got you a present on your return,” co-host Susanna Reid confessed.
Piers agreed: “Thank god for the viewers because otherwise, I’d get nothing, no love at all from the room.”

“No hug, no kiss,” Susanna continued.
“Just love from the people back home,” said Piers, who continued to cover his mouth while he coughed, causing Susanna to comment about his tickley wheeze.
She said: “Can I just say that you’re coughing a little bit. I’m not that keen on those symptoms.”
Charlotte Hawkins added: “Are you ok?”

“Coronavirus,” Piers joked, but Susanna still looked troubled.
She asked: “You do know the advice, don’t you?”
“Yep,” he responded.
“You’re supposed to cough into a tissue and then throw the tissue away,” she said.
He quipped: “And then wash your hands and sing God Save The Queen.”

Piers added: “It’s a serious thing. Whatever they’re saying, it’s going to get worse before it gets better.”
The episode comes after a new UK case has been confirmed, taking the number up to 36.
The virus, which first emerged in China late last year, has now infected more than 88,000 people worldwide and spread to over 60 countries.
Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV at 6:30am
