This Morning star Holly Willoughby was left red-faced during the latest instalment of the ITV daytime show today.
The blonde presenter, 38, returned to our screens this morning alongside best pal and co-star Phillip Schofield .
The dynamic duo began Wednesday’s show by discussing the latest on the Coronavirus outbreak.
The number of coronavirus cases in the UK has risen again and a sixth person who had the virus has died.
A total of 373 UK cases was announced as of 9am yesterday, a rise of 54 from the previous day – with a further nine cases confirmed by health officials in Wales.
Chatting about Coronavirus on This Morning today, Holly said: “I’m worried for my mum, she’s older than me, she’s 72.”
The presenter quickly realised what she’d said, but it didn’t go unnoticed by ITV viewers.
Taking to Twitter, one This Morning viewer penned: “Your mum is older than you Holly ? Are you on medication?”
A second added: “Holly looked confused when she realised that her mum is older than her.”
A third said: “My mum’s older than me. Well done holly you can put a gold star on your chart today
A fourth joked: “On today’s episode of “Holly Willoughby stating the obvious…”
A fifth said: “Come on Holly.”
Coronavirus, otherwise known as COVID-19, has been the main topic of conversation on This Morning this week.
Phillip, 57, asked whether the disease could be passed on through sex during yesterday’s show.
With the NHS warning about the spread of misleading information, This Morning’s Dr Sara Kayat and Immunologist Dr Al Edwards gave viewers some facts in a bid to stop the spread of myths.
Phillip was seen asking: “Can you get it from sex? That’s another question being asked.”
Dr Sara explained that you can’t spread coronavirus through sex itself, as it is not a Sexually Transmitted Disease, but there is some concern.
She told the hosts: “It can be transmitted through respiratory droplets, which can be spread from direct contact.
“As such you are more likely to catch coronavirus through intimacy with an infected partner.”
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
