Former Coronation Street star James Gaddas has joined the cast of Hollyoaks as the soap’s newest villain.

The 60-year-old actor will make his debut in the Channel 4 soap next week as Cormac Ranger, Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) and Felix WestWood’s (Richard Blackwood) former carer at their children’s home.

James is best known for playing Vinny Sorrell on Coronation Street and prison officer Neil Grayling in ITV drama Bad Girls.

The TV star has also appeared in several other shows including Emmerdale, Outlander and Waterloo Road.

According to The Sun, James began filming just weeks before the soap was forced to halt production due to the coronavirus pandemic.

James’ character Cormac is set to kick start one of Hollyoaks’ biggest storylines of the year.

Fans were left stunned as bad boy Warren found out his rival Felix was abused by the children’s home mentor Cormac when they were younger.

Warren set his sights on his childhood bully when he spotted Felix offering to pay for some flowers ahead of Kyle’s funeral.

This infuriated Warren and he later gave Felix the shock of his life when he surprised the father-of-three by turning up in his home.

Warren grabbed Felix and pushed him aggressively against the wall, demanding that he leave the village.

Felix had other ideas as he teased him to try and goad Warren into hitting him.

As the hard man discussed how Cormac was the only one to look out for him when he was a child, Felix showed him the scars on his back from when their mentor used to beat him.

Newcomer Felix began to mention the different experiences they had with Cormack, who they knew from the home they lived in as children.

Warren mentioned that Cormack used to teach him how to box and was one of the few people that looked out for him when he was younger.

Felix begged to differ as he pulled up his top to show a stunned Warren scars from when Cormack used to beat him.

A bemused Warren didn’t want to believe his former bully’s story and swiftly left.

Later, Warren contacted Cormack and asked if he could help him sort out a “problem”, no surprises for guessing who he is talking about.

Hollyoaks spoilers have revealed that Warren will arrange to meet and confront Cormac about Felix’s claims in upcoming scenes.

The storyline is set to take dark turn as Felix finally comes face to face wit his accused abuser later this month.

Hollyoaks airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4 followed by first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm
