Hollyoaks star Jessica Fox has revealed that the Channel 4 soap may have to “fast-forward” storylines as cast members return to set next month.
The show aired a special hour-long episode in December last year which flicked between the present New Year’s Eve and the events of a year later.
The episode showcased the dark storylines awaiting the residents of Hollyoaks village in the coming year, from drug running to murder.
The most shocking clip from the flash forward scenes was John Paul (James Hatton) crying over a body bag.
It currently remains unknown who is dead, but the episode dropped several hints of the victim’s identity from Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) being confronted by the police covered in blood to Juliet Quinn (Niamh Blackshaw) with blood on her face.

In the flash-forward episode, Nancy Hayton (Jessica Fox) is confronted by police with evidence of nephew Charlie’s drug running.
Actress Jessica, who plays Nancy Hayton, has revealed that the soap may have to re-jig some of the storylines in order to hit the New Year’s Eve tragedy on time.
Speaking to Digital Spy, the soap star she has every faith show bosses “will pull it out of the bag”.
Jessica, 37, said: “I think the flash-forward is now going to have to be a bit more of a fast forward because we’ve now got less time to film the journey that leads up to it.

“But I know that all of the ideas are there. All of the dots are there waiting to be connected.
“I’m sure that Hollyoaks will pull it out of the bag and we’ll all be watching it saying: ‘Ah, it all makes sense now!'”
Fans have been speculating whether or not the victim will be tied into the county lines storyline, which focuses on the effects of young people getting involved in the drug trade.
The flash forward also sees a shocked Nancy as police discover drugs stashed in nephew Charlie’s games console controller.

Jessica, who has played Nancy since 2005, added she is excited to find out what happens.
“It was not specified how big the person in that body bag is, so who knows? But I cannot wait to find out,” she said.
Viewers were left in tears last week after the soap aired the tragic death of Nancy’s fiancé Kyle Kelly (Adam Rickitt), who took his own life after battling depression.
Hollyoaks continues on Channel 4 tonight at 6.30pm followed by a first look episode on E4 at 7pm
