Stephanie Davis has been in hospital for over a week after suffering from a chest infection.
The Hollyoaks actress informed her online following she is resting up, but admitted her time in hospital has made her realise the things “she takes for granted”.
She quickly reassured fans she was ok, and explained she’s been given morphine in order to help with the pain.
Taking to social media, she said: “I have been in for over a week. But I feel like I have turned a corner so I just wanted to come on – sorry for the way I look.
“I think I have just been really run down for a long time since my relapse last year and when I tried to end everything, I just haven’t looked after myself for a long time.
“I feel like everything happens for a reason, god knows I am stubborn and it takes me a while to realise things but it’s taken this to stop and look after myself.”
She added: “I am still in pain but morphine is helping, morphine is good.”
Stephanie, who is currently taking a break from the Channel 4 show, continued: “I’m friggin wrecked. I was laughing going ‘I cannot believe I’m in hospital. I said: ‘You can’t write it.”
“What else, Steph? Oh God, I’m sweating. When it rains it pours, but in my case it just p***es down for years.
She later told her following she has been able to leave the hospital once since being admitted.
“I’m grateful for the air outside. I went out for the first time yesterday in a wheelchair and let the air on my face. It was just like, ahh. How much we take for granted. It was amazing.”
Since posting the video, Stephanie received an outpouring of well-wishes from fans.
She wrote: “Thank you for all the messages! I have seen them.”
