Jack Fincham taken to hospital after car crash that that wrote off £35k Mercedes

Jack Fincham, who rose to fame on the ITV2 reality show Love Island, was rushed to hospital over the weekend after crashing his Mercedes.

With his face covered in bruises, the 26-year-old has been left with several injuries after the accident, and doctors are carrying out scans to investigate pain in his neck and head.

Love Island 2018 winner Jack has claimed his car, which was said to have been worth £35,000, was written off after he collided with another vehicle in Kent.

The former pen salesman had been pulling into a venue to order a Caesar salad when he collided with another car, prompting the airbag to blow up in his face.

Jack, who recently took up training to become a professional boxer, was left with bruises across his nose, heading to the hospital for testing.

Opening up about the incident in an interview with The Sun Online, the dad-of-one admitted he had only recently purchased the swish luxury car.

He told the publication: “My nose and head are really hurting as well as my neck. I’m going to the physio to have a look at it.

“Unfortunately I was in a car accident. It’s all being dealt with. The airbag popped out straight in my face and unfortunately for me it was a lot harder than Barney’s punch to the nose.

“I literally just got that car, I’m absolutely devastated. It just seems to be something that happens to me.

“I’m actually proper upset about it. When things are going really well for me, the universe goes: have that.”

The reality star, who won Love Island with ex-girlfriend Dani Dyer two years ago, revealed he would be giving up on expensive cars in the future, instead relying on his trusty van.

He added: “Over the years, ever since I was 19, I’ve had bad luck with cars. I think I’m going to stick with the silver van I’m driving at the minute.”

The accident thankfully hasn’t halted Jack’s professional boxing debut, which is due to take place early next month.

Jack recently showed off his dramatic weight loss, having ditched takeaways and unhealthy habits to focus on working up a sweat in the boxing ring.

Opening up about the motivation behind his body transformation, he told The Sun last year: “I was shocked to find my BMI was bordering on obese.”

Jack added: “A lot of the weight gain is after I have moved out of my mum’s house.

“I find it a lot easier to get a takeaway or eat out because you can get too busy to sit down and make a meal.

“It’s the busy lifestyle that gets in the way.”
