Jamie Redknapp has revealed a stranger tried to coax him into a caravan when he was a kid.
The former Liverpool footballer-turned-pundit, 47, said he and his brother Mark would regularly head out on their BMXs to playing fields in Bournemouth, Dorset, where his dad, Harry, 73, was the team’s boss at the time.
But on one occasion he went alone and the 47-year-old said: “When I come back to my bike, both the tyres are flat.
“An older bloke says: ‘I’ve got a pump in my caravan. You come with me and I’ll get them sorted’. A sick feeling rushes into my stomach. I grab the bike and run.”
In his new book, Me, Family And The Making Of A Footballer, he added: “Dad’s straight in the car then, golf club gripped in the hand, but the bloke had gone.”

Louise Redknapp’s ex-husband goes on to detail his life growing up in a football-mad family, admitting that his dad, Harry, 73, put him under pressure while growing up – without realising.
Speaking about growing up, he said: “He probably didn’t know what he was doing, it was probably subconscious, but he put a lot more pressure on me than he realised.”
“He didn’t shout at me, but he always had his eye on me and he’d always give me a sign.”

However, Jamie later admitted that his goal growing up was simply to please his famous dad.
“I just wanted to please him. I put pressure on myself. I adored football and I adored him — still do, he’s the best dad you could ever have. So as long as I was playing well, I was happy,” he continued.
The footie pundit went on to say that he felt more pressure playing for the school football team than he did playing for Bournemouth.
Jamie’s autobiography is available now.
