Loose Women was back on our screens this afternoon for the latest instalment of the ITV daytime show.
Host Andrea McLean was in the anchor’s seat alongside Linda Robson, Janet Street-Porter and Brenda Edwards joined in the conversation via a video link from the comfort of her own home.
The ladies debated whether or not it is acceptable to have more than one partner at the same time.
It comes after a survey revealed one in five women said they’d ask their partner for an open relationship.
Janet, 73, told her pals: “I think for most people it has been the longest time they’ve spent with their partner.
“I have been looking back at marital and ex-marital history.
“From when I was 21 to 50, I wasn’t faithful for more than a year.
“I would have more than one bloke on the go.
I’d call them Front burner men and back burner men.”
“The front burner man was your regular item.
“Back burner was for some nookie when front burner was busy.
“Then there was the Pilot light man who were on their way out. They were about to be extinguished.
Janet’s comment left her Loose Women co-stars gobsmacked.
Former X Factor star Brenda joked: “I can’t believe it. I’d be happy with just one.”
Actress Linda added: “I’m just happy with someone with one nose and two eyes.”
Janet’s co-stars were not the only ones shocked by her revelation.
ITV viewers rushed to their keyboards to discuss the outspoken journalist’s admission.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Janet Street Porter is basically an old female f***boy.”
Another joked: “Janet is so honest.”
A third said: “It’s nothing to be proud of Janet.”
A fourth added: “At least she’s honest.”
The Loose ladies welcomed Masterchef star Gregg Wallace and his wife Anne-Marie Sterpini onto the show today.
The couple opened up about their life in lockdown and Gregg’s decision to shed some weight in a bid to keep up with his younger wife and their baby son, Sid.
