‘Picture Show: A Tribute Celebrating John Prine’, which is set to take place on June 11 evening, will feature performances from Kacey Musgraves, Brandi Carlile and Bonnie Raitt among others.

AceShowbizJohn Prine‘s widow is to debut one of her late husband’s final songs as part of an all-star online tribute.

The Americana icon was working on new music when he contracted COVID-19 in late March and died, and now Fiona Prine reveals she’ll premiere one new song during Thursday’s (June 11) “Picture Show: A Tribute Celebrating John Prine”, which will feature performances from Kacey Musgraves, Brandi Carlile, Billy Bob Thornton, and Bonnie Raitt, among others.

And she’s planning to drop more unreleased music, telling CBS, “John left me a lot – a lot of memories, music, cars.”

Planning the online tribute and completing her late husband’s music has been a needed distraction for the widow.

“It’s been difficult at times,” Fiona says, “but it’s also been a great distraction.”

The show will begin at 7.30pm ET on https://www.youtube.com/johnprine.

Carlile will also be among Rosanne Cash‘s guests for Thursday’s Live with Carnegie Hall showcase.

Johnny Cash‘s daughter will explore her back catalogue for the “Present Perfect: Songs of Protest and Memory” show, scheduled for 2 pm ET.

Elvis Costello, Gary Clark Jr., Marc Cohn, Ry Cooder, and Lizz Wright are also set to appear.
