Good Morning Britain star Ben Shephard revealed that he and his family enjoyed a fun day out with co-star Kate Garraway and her children recently.
Ben, 45, was back on our screens this morning alongside co-star Ranivr Singh.
The pair discussed Kate’s emotional GMB interview, which took place on Wednesday alongside Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.
Ben told Ranvir that he has met up with Kate outside the studio and he is delighted to be reunited with his good friend on the ITV breakfast show from Monday.
The presenter said on GMB this morning that he, his wife Annie and their two children enjoyed a “fantastic” day out with Kate and her children, Darcy and Billy, a couple of weeks ago.

Ben explained: “Well, we saw Kate and the kids a few weekends ago when we could finally all get together and we spent a really lovely day in a place near us called Thames Young Mariners, it’s a lake just opposite the Thames where you can go on a paddle-board.
“Kate, Darcey and Billy and me and Sam and Jack and Annie went out and had the most fantastic day with the kids, on the paddle-board.”
“And it’s great because it’s such a big space and you can talk to each other but it’s outdoors and that was so important because we could actually see each other in real life so to get her back in the studio, back here where she belongs, with us and be able to do this programme, and doing the job she is so great at… it’s sort of an important moment.
He added: “Seeing her in real life is the reality of what they are going through.”
Ben went on to tell Ranvir and viewers at home that Kate, 53, has had a hilarious request ahead of their first show back together on Monday.
He said: “She did say brilliantly that she wants me to be rude to her. I am warming up, I am very, very prepared.”
“It’s a big step, an important step as she was talking about yesterday very honestly and openly particularly for her, for Darcey and Billy and Derek’s ongoing condition.”
Ben, who is very close with Kate and Derek, continued to praise the mother-of-two: “She’s been incredibly resilient, incredibly strong and positive for her own mental health.”

Kate spoke to Piers and Susanna on Tuesday as she returned to the studio or the first time since husband Derek Draper was rushed to hospital in March after contracting coronavirus.
Former lobbyist Derek, 52, was later put into an induced coma, which he has recently come round from.
However, former I’m a Celebrity campmate Kate warned her husband still has a long road to recovery.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am
