Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway admitted the birth of a baby gorilla left her broody for another child as she reported on the news with Charlotte Hawkins.
Kate has Darcey, 14, and Billy, 11, with husband Derek Draper, who has been hospitalised with coronavirus since the end of March.
Looking at the snaps of the newborn baby gorilla, she was shocked when she realised gorilla Kiki had safely welcomed her first baby boy at the age of 39.
The pictures showed the tiny unnamed gorilla being brought into the world by a team of doctors at the zoo, as the little boy was seen chewing on his fingers.
Kate said on the show today: “We’ve been oohing and ahhing over this this morning, this little baby gorilla born by c-section at Franklin Park Zoo in Boston.
“Look how cute! No name yet for the baby but mum is Kiki, she’s 39-years-old, I didn’t know gorillas gave birth that late in life.”
Charlotte chipped in: “He’s her fifth baby and her only boy! He weighed 6lb 3oz, that’s heavier than normal for a little baby gorilla, and they’re waiting to name him.
“He’s the first male gorilla to be born at the zoo, just adorable.”
Looking at the picture, Kate said: “”Look at those eyes.
“Are those eyes blue or just very pale? Beautiful. Sucking the thumb!
“I’m going a bit gooey.”
“I feel like I’m a bit broody.”
Meanwhile, Kate’s husband Derek remains ill in hospital as he recovers from the effects coronavirus has had on his organs.
Speaking on GMB last week, Kate told her co-star Susanna Reid that he was stable in hospital.
She said: “I’m doing OK thank you.

“The problem is, I feel like I’m boring everyone to death because it ends up being the same, he is stable but actually in between there are big ups and downs. Not big ups – small improvements and worrying downs.
“The last few days have been pretty stable so we are keeping everything crossed.”
Due to coronavirus restrictions, their children haven’t been allowed to see their dad in hospital yet, meaning they haven’t seen him in seven months.
Kate added: “Darcy has not been able to see Derek, his mum and dad haven’t been able to see him. They are in tier 2 in Lancashire and so could go into lockdown and might not be able to see him for months.”
GMB continues on Monday at 6am on ITV.
