Kate Garraway put on a brave face as she persevered through work despite struggling with an eye injury.
The 53-year-old Smooth FM radio star appeared in high spirits as she spoke from the studios on Wednesday.
Sharing a cheerful clip on her social media page, the mum of two, who also presents on Good Morning Britain, revealed that she has a sore eye but doesn’t know what she’s done to it.
As a result, Kate donned a pair of glasses instead of her contact lenses but reassured fans that nothing has actually changed to the show.
In the entertaining video that Kate shared with her 943,000 Instagram followers, the presenter was sitting in front of her radio equipment before swivelling her chair around to the camera.

Dressed in a gorgeous floral blouse, the GMB presenter then unveiled her specs to her fans.
“Morning, do I look clever?” Kate joked in the clip.
“I always think when I wear my glasses I look a bit more brainy.
“If you’re listening though to the old Smooth Radio this morning, then you’ll know that nothings actually changed.
Speaking about her injury, Kate explained: “I’ve got a really sore eye, its really hurting. I don’t know what I’ve done to it. So I can’t put my contacts in and I’m wearing my glasses.
“The songs, however, are as perfect as they always are on Smooth Radio, so do join me and listen.
Before getting back to work, Kate also joked that her listeners should keep an ear out for any pronunciation blunders as she’s struggling to read even with her glasses.
“Kate added: “And for an extra game, you can see if I get the names right… because I can’t read very well either. But it’s relaxing listening and that’s all that counts.”

Kate’s cheerful display came after Kate was spotted looking downcast as she headed to the Smooth FM studios.
The television presenter is trying to remain positive and seize every moment while her husband Derek Draper remains in hospital.
Derek was rushed to hospital with coronavirus in March and although he is now Covid-free he continues to fight for his life due to the after-effects of the virus.
