Kate Garraway sent her love to husband Derek Draper on today’s Good Morning Britain, revealing he was watching the show from the hospital.
The 52-year-old has been hospitalised since March, his body battling the aftermath of suffering Covid-19, as the virus wreaked havoc on his internal organs.
Formerly in an induced coma, Derek has since been woken up and is in a state of “minimum consciousness” according to his concerned wife.
In a heartwarming moment this morning, Kate revealed the nurses had switched on Derek’s telly, letting Good Morning Britain play in his room.
She said: “The nurses had said they were going to put the show on this morning.”
Last week, Derek watched the show for the first time, as Kate went on: “They said they had put GMB on and they felt that he looked because his eyes were open.
“I found it very emotional.”
Facing the camera, she sent a sweet message to her husband, adding: “Good morning Derek if you are watching.

“We’re all sending lots of love.”
Kate, who is known for her upbeat nature and good humour, managed to make a joke about the heartbreaking turn of events, suggesting Derek never normally watched GMB.
Jokingly, she said: “To be honest he’s never really watched me on television before.”

Showing his support for his longtime pal, Ben Shephard scoffed and assured Kate that likely wasn’t the case.
Kate then revealed she was going to return to the hospital later in the afternoon, delighted to have permission to finally visit her husband after lockdown restrictions were lifted.
She said: “I’m going to visit him again today. I am going to get the chance.”
Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays at 6am on ITV
